GSC IT Solutions, a division of Granite State Communications, is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer II. The Field Service Engineer II supports and maintains the business of providing Information Technology (IT) services to businesses including network design, installation, managed services, repair and support and equipment sales.
What are the Duties and Responsibilities?
- Provides trouble analysis, remote support, and on-site support to customers.
- Completes networking projects in a professional and workmanlike manner.
- Provides evaluation and design support to the sales team.
- Aware of company products and services and identifies sales opportunities.
- Keeps the immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance, takes prompt and corrective action where necessary and makes suggestions for alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Performs on call/weekend work on a scheduled rotation as needed. Employees are compensated for on call work.
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years experience in related areas of network design, installation, managed services, repair and support and equipment sales.
- Excellent planning, coordination and organizational skills.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Well-developed problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
- Able to follow through a problem until a satisfactory solution is reached for both the customer and Company.
- Able to remain calm and courteous when discussing and resolving problems with customers.
- Able to perform very detailed tasks.
- Able to work in high pressure situations.
- Proficient with personal computer programs.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driving record.
