With sixteen locations across the state of New Hampshire, Waypoint’s mission is to empower people of all ages through an array of human services and advocacy. Waypoint is a private, nonprofit agency, with an array of services including- prenatal support, children services, mental health counseling, family preservation, supervised visitation, foster care, homeless youth continuum, home healthcare for older Americans, adults with disabilities, and advocacy. Waypoint offers over 24 programs to reach an average of 7,000 people each year, making a positive, long-lasting impact that improves our communities and every life within them.
Waypoint realized the need to maintain a mobile Information Technologies infrastructure, so the organization could continue to meet the needs of communities all over the state. Most employees at the organization use two company-issued and personal mobile devices or (BYOD). Due to the nature of their work, employees must work from the office, at home, on the road, and at client sites. Other key issues included the security of these devices and wanting control over company data being held on said devices — more specifically, emails, documents, and applications. The aging on-premise infrastructure was in desperate need of replacement, so migration to cloud-based resources was a potential solution.
GSC IT Solutions knows that digital theft and sophisticated attacks constantly threaten businesses and organizations of all sizes. That’s why GSC IT Solutions offers proactive and adaptive approaches to cybersecurity. We customize solutions to meet our clients’ unique needs.
Microsoft Intune, alongside GSC IT’s Managed Care Professional program, was used to meet the brief. GSC IT Solutions presented the solution, and the Organization was happy to proceed with the plan. Logins were moved from traditional on-premises Active Directory to Entra ID.
“The transition to Microsoft 365 and Entra ID has allowed our staff the flexibility and autonomy to serve our clients more effectively. SaaS infrastructure has removed our reliance on outdated on-premises servers and streamlined remote work. “ Tim Healey, IT Manager
We rolled out Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager MDM within the organization and implemented the following:
Intune’s centralized configuration manager and console allows the organization to control access and data permissions for all users and devices enrolled with the MDM.
Login accounts at Waypoint were moved to Microsoft Office 365 and Entra ID making integrating Microsoft Intune seamless.
Both BYOD and company-issued devices are now locked down to protect organizations data with comprehensive security policies created by the user.
The data is protected from cyber-attacks and infections by restricting access to devices that do not comply with cyber security policies.
If a device is lost or stolen, admins can protect and remotely wipe data off devices as needed.
This significantly reduces the risk of guessing or hacking passwords. Admins also can reset passwords remotely if required.
Administrators may apply security policies to all computers and devices to increase endpoint protection.
“With Entra ID and Microsoft 365 we are more secure than ever. Industry best practices for authentication, data loss prevention policies, and modern anti-malware technology provided by Microsoft helps keep our sensitive data and user accounts secure.” Tim Healey, IT Manager
The feature helps ensure that the devices are always running the latest versions of all operating systems and essential software, reducing system vulnerabilities.
Mobile application management (MAM) in Intune is designed to protect organization data at the application level. Additionally, company applications can be automatically installed on new devices.
“Microsoft Intune allows us to have in-depth control over our endpoint devices. It has streamlined inventory management, system deployments, OS patching, and application updates.” Tim Healey, IT Manager
